Crazy metropolises, spreading new housing estates, non-descriptive building sites, endless flyovers; the roller coaster of the worldwide urbanism offers an endless picture perspective for the present art photography. Having the urban landscape in front of the camera lens the sky is literally the limit.
Hans Wilschut takes photographs all over the world of (nightly) urban and industrial landscapes with a technical camera . Hans Wilschut is not interested in just esthetical images or a digital manipulated reality . Very often the dregs of society is hidden in his urban still lives. Wilschut feeds upon specific details and knows by catching these details to set the urban landscape on edge .
In his photographs Wilschut goes past the physical city as a palisade of stones, glass and concrete and presents her as the materialized desire of man, according to Xandra de Jongh in her essay.
Is published in association with MK gallery. In May 2010 museum Boijmans van Beuningen and MK gallery in Rotterdam show new work of Hans Wilschut.
